For pet owners

Your vet remains at the centre of your pet’s care.

Mobile Vet Referral does not take direct bookings from pet owners. Your usual vet makes the referral and helps coordinate the most suitable local appointment and ongoing care.

What to expect

Advanced veterinary care, coordinated locally.

We work with your usual veterinary practice to provide advanced investigations and referral-level support while keeping communication clear and coordinated.

  1. 1

    Speak to your vet

Your primary vet assesses your pet, decides whether our service is a suitable next step and submits the referral.

  2. 2

    Confirm the location

Your practice will tell you which selected local host clinic to attend and confirm the appointment arrangements.

  3. 3

    Prepare for the appointment

Your practice will explain any fasting, medication, clipping, sedation, anaesthesia or consent requirements relevant to your pet.

  4. 4

    Receive the plan

Findings and recommendations are shared with your usual vet, who discusses the results and coordinates ongoing care with you.

Common questions

Before your pet’s referral.

Clear answers about bookings, appointments and communication.

Can I book directly with Mobile Vet Referral?

No. Please speak to your usual veterinary practice first. Your vet can decide whether referral is appropriate, submit the relevant clinical history and coordinate your pet’s ongoing care.

Where will my pet be seen?

Most appointments take place at one of the selected local host clinics. Your veterinary practice will confirm the location and any appointment arrangements with you.

How should I prepare my pet?

Preparation depends on the investigation or procedure. Your veterinary practice will explain any instructions about food, water, medication, clipping, sedation or anaesthesia.

Who will explain the results?

Findings and recommendations are shared with your usual vet. Your veterinary practice remains your main point of contact and will discuss the plan and ongoing care with you.

What should I do in an emergency?

Mobile Vet Referral is not an emergency service. If your pet is unwell or you are worried about urgent symptoms, contact your usual veterinary practice or its out-of-hours provider immediately.
